ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) – Off to a 4-1 start this season, the UCF men’s basketball team will return to action Saturday, hosting Albany at 5 p.m. at the UCF Arena. Head coach Kirk Speraw’s Knights have already registered impressive victories over Auburn and Masaachusetts.

Watching football has become as much of a part of the American Thanksgiving tradition as turkey and stuffing. Knight fans will have a chance to see a total of eight UCF alumni play in the NFL today as the Knights are represented on five of the six teams in action this Thanksgiving.

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) – Freshman forward Keith Clanton (Orlando, Fla.) has made an immediate impact for the Knights this season. Through five games, the former Orlando Christian Prep star is averaging 8.2 points and 7.0 boards. Clanton is averaging 23.2 minutes per contest as a reserve, and is shooting 64.3 percent from the field. On the defensive end, the rookie has already totaled 10 blocked shots.

(www.UCFAthletics.com) – During the course of its 11-game schedule this season, the UCF football team has continued to adjust and improve, getting used to a new quarterback, a new offensive quarterback and a completely revamped secondary after the graduation of four seniors. One of the players that have had to make adjustments throughout the season to help the Knights be successful is junior Derrick Hallman.

UCF dominated from the opening drive as Brynn Harvey ripped off a 50-yard touchdown das as the first of three scores on the way to a 21-0 UCF lead. The Knights rolled from there as Brett Hodges and Kamar Aiken connected on touchdowns from 29 and 16 yards out in the third quarter to make the game a blowout. Tulane managed a mere 50 yards of total offense and -30 yards rushing.
Player of the Game: UCF RB Brynn Harvey ran 16 times for 129 yards and three touchdowns
Tulane: Passing: Ryan Griffin, 10-20, 67 yds, 2 INT
Rushing: Jeremy Williams, 2-4, Receiving: Jeremy Williams, 7-47
UCF: Passing: Brett Hodges, 19-28, 234 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT

What It All Means: Coming off the excellent win over Houston, UCF solidified a bowl slot with a dominant win. The team’s best performance this year, the defense was camped out in Tulane’s backfield, while the offense got a huge day early from Brett Hodges and put it into cruise control. This was a nice home finale, and now it’s time to get high in the bowl pecking order, needing to deal with Joe Webb and UAB next. If the offense is as balanced and as explosive as it was this week, getting the win shouldn’t be a problem.
